Second Life is an imaginary 3D world.

This world is built and owned by its residents. The whole thing is not that recent. The whole project was opened in 2003.

Second Life also offers client versions for Windows, and Linux, so you can interact with any other computer user that uses this game.

Second Life can be considered a MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game). But, unlike others, this one can simulate a life.

In this 'World' not only that you can buy land, you can also start your own business, or get a job, it order to make money. The currency that's used by Second Life is the Linden Dollar which can be exchanged for real US Dollars or vice-versa.

The application is provided by the producer for free. Unlike other MMORPGs, this game doesn't require an entry fee. You can play as much as you want without paying a dime, but if you would like to have some money, then you can always buy a Premium account that provides you Linden Dollars at signup, and weekly.

The game uses quite a lot of the system resources. Sometimes it becomes unresponsive and it gets stuck. Some of this issues might be generated by the Internet connection. A broadband connection is required for an optimum game play.

Pluses: it provides you a way to spend your time, you can play it for free as much as you want.

Drawbacks / flaws: the resource usage is not that friendly as the developers say.

In conclusion: the whole thing about Second Life is getting more serious each day. Several companies opened virtual shops in this game, and Sweden planed a embassy into this game. It starts to look interesting.
